Flying RC Models by Lt. Col. George Erkes, US Air Force (Ret.)
On March 3, 2007 Cadets and Senior members of the Coral Springs Cadet Squadron had the opportunity to visit with the Markham Park Radio Controlled Flying Club to observe their flying techniques and get hands on instructions from the experts in model R/C flying. This meeting was the first in a series of planned instructional periods where the Cadets will learn the fundamentals of flying through the experience gained flying model airplanes. The Cadets have recently built two R/C model airplanes. While doing this they were exposed to model construction and the terminology of airplane parts and their function. Now with the flight phase under way the cadets have a new challenge that will advance their knowledge in the world of Aerospace Education.
