Coral Springs RELAY FOR LIFE was an 18 hour
walk-a-thon event that took place overnight on March 24-25, 2006, at
Coral Springs High School. It was unusually cold but a great
success. Many hundreds of people participated and the
atmosphere was one of heartwarming community involvement.
Participants included young students, parents and grandparents and a
number of organizations. The US Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air
Patrol played a very active part also. |

The cause: Cancer is an illness that
has affected most of us either directly or indirectly. The American
Cancer Society strives to increase the number of survivors beating
this disease through sponsoring of research, providing service to
patients and their families, educating the public on positive
lifestyles to reduce the chance of cancer, and supporting
legislative advocacy to promote healthy environments. |

Coral Springs, a caring community, in
conjunction with the American Cancer Society, hosted their fifth
annual 18 hour RELAY FOR LIFE walk-a-thon at Coral Springs High
School, 7201 W. Sample Road, Coral Springs.
This event honored the gift of life and
raised funds through numerous activities hosted by the 34 teams
committed to walk 18 hours, so that others might suffer less. Teams
had individuals take turns walking from 6 pm Friday night to noon on
Saturday.
