The Solar Good Signs are powered by solar panels for installation in remote locations and are complete with fully integrated power supplies designed for site loads requiring 12, 24 or 48 volts DC.

Each system provides safe and reliable power generation without the need and expense of installing utility power.

•  Solar panels come in thin-film (amorphous) and crystalline (single and multi). There are advantages and tradeoffs with the various types. The crystalline solar panels are generally more efficient, so they take up less area for the same watts. The Unisolar thin film have no glass, and are almost unbreakable, which may be a factor in some applications. The Siemens ST series are more efficient than the Unisolar but DO have glass. Thin film panels also lose less power in high temperature areas, such as the desert Southwest. Solar panels range in size from 5 watts up to 165 watts. Most higher powered solar panels are available only in 24 volt.

•  The sealed, maintenance free batteries are designed for deep cycle operation and extended life in solar applications. The aluminum array support structures and battery enclosures are strong yet lightweight and corrosion resistant for harsh marine or severe weather locations.

•  Ideally the panel should be angled, for more efficient energy production. In Florida, based on our latitude; it would be a 30 degree angle, with the lower side facing South. Hence the angled design of the Solar Good Sign.
